Le concept husserlien de la représentation (Vergegenwärtigung) dans l’oeuvre de Wolfgang Iser

ROMANIȚA CONSTANTINESCU

Abstract: The article deals with the way in which Husserl’s theory of imagination and pictorial representation helps Iser shape his own theory of literary fiction by rediscussing the acts of imagination in relation to the acts of perception. Due to this indebtedness to Husserl, Iser’s theory marks a paradigmatic shift from the traditional mimetic view upon literature towards a functional understanding of fiction as bearing consequences upon the real world. According to Iser, the acts of imagination at the core of literary fiction enable us to question our previous modes of perception and re-imagine the real world.
