Benjamin Fondane entre le « mal des fantômes » et le « mal d’aurore »

MICHAËL FINKENTHAL

Abstract: This article is centered on the question of the relationship between Fondane and Lautréamont. More exactly, we ask ourselves why did Fondane prefer Rimbaud to Isidore Ducasse as emblematic of the attitude of “irresignation”. The conclusion is that for Benjamin Fondane the latter, in spite of Maldoror, could not overcome the purely esthetic temptation of the poetic act.
